It's things like this that make me so glad to be away from the org. Even when I was in, I saw things that were rediculous like this. I just couldn't get over the fact that people were such weaklings and unable to make a single decision for themselves.

Surely the WT wouldn't LIE about motel/hotel accommodations?!?
by RisingEagle ini was eating lunch with 3/4 of my active jw family earlier today and they were bemoaning the idea that they were going to have to leave the central oklahoma area very early tomorrow morning to find a room so they could attend an assembly on the otherside of the state.
they had tried calling the 'approved' hotels and motels in the town where the assembly is being held and they were all booked.
so that left them looking at the rest of the approved list and having to travel as much as 50 miles away to get a room.

by cluless ini came to this site initially to research about jehovahs witnesses.and oboy what i learnt.
goodbye to that believe system.. but was it really necessary that i also now no longer see the bible as the word of god ?..and am turning athiest...?.

What 1st made you come to JWD??

I had already attended my last meeting in '05 and was curious what the apostates were saying. It was scary at first and I was worried about being found out. I was like a kid sneaking her first smoke or drink in the girls' room. I was floored by what I read. A lot of it made sense and I could identify with the stories of fake love shown in the khall and unjust DF'ings, and arrogant loveless power hungry elders and PO's. I felt a sense of kindered spirits here that existed at the khall only in the mag articles and pictures, but not in real life.

Been away for a while - is anything happen in JW world?

Wow. Two changes on 'generation' in 12 years. Maybe that is not so odd and I have just now noticed how rapidly changes come about now that I'm out of the loop. While I was in, I didn't bat an eye at changes.

Kids are watching TV and I'm on the computer. Water is steaming in the teakettle because it is so incredibly dry here. If you put coffee beans outside, you could call them freeze dried. Just drank two cups of tea and ate toast with butter and honey on it. It's a nice evening if not just a little boring. This site helps dispell that, though:)

I have to say this. Be ware of women who are followers. They say they will follow you anywhere and lead the kind of life you want or both of you have talked about. The truth is that people change. Sometimes, one person will change and the other is left behind wondering what happened. I also believe that no one can keep respecting someone who just follows and obeys because a person who obeys doesn't respect herself and is a needy sort. Be careful of emotion ridden promises. People are usually married to seven different personalities, one after the other, in one person over a lifetime. If you want to be followed, get a puppy not a human. Joining a cult to be close to her? Not a very mature or well thought out decision, in my opinion.

Nursing home?! Aren't those people usually old and have a lifetime of sex behind them? I would much rather (if I was a guy) have a really good lifetime than worry while I was young if when old I would be easier for people to clean. Weird! No one thinks like that!
